RaymanHello everyone.
I was in this season again for the first time on the road.
everything was fine.at a road unevenness a chirping noise came from the front speaker passenger side.
When I switched the radio off and on it was gone again until the next rough road.I replaced the capacitors last year.
I am grateful for any idea.

Thanks

padrooHere are some ideas from the past.

robinis it the front upper dash speaker?

If it is make sure you line the hole with some foam so the wire or the connection isn't touching anything.
Same can be said if its a door speaker check for any wires that are bare. Cover the contacts with black electrical tape.

Rayman@ padroo.
thanks for the compilation.I'll read it maybe I can find a solution.

@ Robin
I think the chirping comes from the upper rigth Speaker.
in order to get to the upper speaker, the dashboard has to be removed.
before that I have great respect, I do not want to break anything.
It probably makes sense to park the Prowler in the sun, so that the plastic is supple.

ed monahanRemoving the dash board is no big deal. It does take some physical force, especially the first time. You need to really give it a good pull but you will get it out without breaking anything. Re-installing it you have to watch for the trip odometer but it is still really a simple procedure.
RaymanThanks ed monahan.

that encourages me.I will check the upper right Speaker.

pop that speaker out and see if noise goes away.
cover the tabs with electrical tape to prevent short.
while you do a test drive.
good luck keep us informed

RaymanHey @ all

I removed the Dashboard today to search for the cause loudspeaker chirping.
the removal of the dashboard was easier than expected, at this point thank you again.
I did not find a wire without insulation.but the speakers were obviously already changed once.
the speaker have contact with magnet and sheet metal Body.
should there not be something distance?
I do not know which speakers fit well up and have a good Sound.besides, I'll let tomorrow test the Speakers.

Roman

robin touching is not good..just put a little spacer at the bottom foam . an maybe around the speaker it self and if they are still functioning you should test that .

RaymanI've swapped the dashboard speakers, now everything is fine

Thanks again for your help

chasgriffithWhat dash speakers did you go with?. I was just searching and saw infinity, kicker and pioneer, jbl. Price for all range about 35 to 50 bucks for the pair.
I was passing by a Best Buy Saturday and thinking that might have something, but they don't carry any.
RaymanHello chasgriffith

These front speakers are hard to find in Germany.
Unfortunately, I did not keep the packaging,
But my receipt says speaker 87

https://www.amazon.de/Lautsprecher-87mm-2-Wege-Koax-System/dp/B004FOSSCY

I hope this helps you

My speaker problem was a ground problem, the negative pole on the battery had loosened,
as a previous owner had installed a wrong battery that did not connect properly.

Rayman

chasgriffithThanks, I have the dash off due to instrument cluster problem and my front speakers are toast.
From the pics it looks like most will work.

How many prowlers are in Germany? bet that gets some looks.

Raymanwith pleasure chasgriffith,

the Prowler is very rare here, mine is from Houston TX.

my best regards to Texas

mslc10Stick with infinity with 2ohm coil. Most will be 4 ohm and you will loose volume in those speakers . I'll look on web

Infinity-Reference-REF-3032

CAT-A-TONICHow many people have had their speakers go bad when it wasn't the result of a deteriorated foam ring?
